At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at 83.7-85.2 million VND/tael for buying and selling. Compared to yesterday, the price of SJC gold bars decreased by 800 thousand VND/tael for both buying and selling.

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 am today, Vietnam time, was 2,633.03 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.26% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,709 VND), the world gold price is about 81.6 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 3.6 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices fell to a one-week low on Tuesday as safe-haven demand eased after Israel agreed to a ceasefire with Lebanon, while concerns over Ukraine and US President-elect Donald Trump’s tariff plans limited losses.
The move comes after a sharp $100 drop yesterday, when gold fell from a three-week high. The sell-off was fueled by optimism about a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah and added pressure from Trump's nomination of Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary, which has dampened demand for safe-haven gold. Israel's security cabinet has agreed to a ceasefire with Lebanon, Channel 12 reported today.
“ As everyone probably realizes that the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah only slightly alleviates the overall geopolitical risks, there is certainly optimism here ,” said Peter Grant, vice president and senior metals strategist at Zaner Metals.
However, Grant said concerns about the broader fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine remain high, adding that gold prices are likely to experience a volatile correction in the near term, hovering between $2,575 and $2,750.
Gold is traditionally seen as a safe investment during times of economic and geopolitical uncertainty such as trade wars.
Trump’s pledge to impose steep tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China carries weight. While they could spark a trade war and bolster gold’s appeal, the resulting inflation risk could undermine the Federal Reserve’s interest rate cuts, potentially weighing on prices, analysts said.
Markets are now focused on the minutes of the Fed's November meeting due later in the day. With a 56% chance of a December rate cut being priced in, investors remain cautious.
Minutes of the Federal Reserve's November 6-7 meeting showed that officials expressed differing views on the likelihood of future rate cuts. However, they collectively decided to withhold specific guidance on the likely path of U.S. monetary policy.
Some participants suggested pausing rate cuts if inflation remains high, while others suggested cutting rates more quickly if the labor market or economic activity weakens.
Spot silver rose 0.4% to $30.40 an ounce and palladium rose 1% to $982.87. Platinum fell 1.3% to $926.35, while Commerzbank analysts forecast platinum prices to reach $1,100 by 2025.
