The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has officially approved the proposal of the Department of Construction to invest in an additional unit for Binh Goi Bridge, the bridge over the Saigon River on Ring Road 3. This item will be added to Component Project 5: Construction of Ring Road 3 through Binh Duong province.

Scale and traffic organization plan

According to the approved proposal, the new bridge unit will be of the same scale as the bridge under construction, with a deck width of 19.75 meters. Upon completion, the two bridge units will be reorganized to ensure the synchronous operation of 4 expressway lanes (including 2 emergency lanes) and 4 parallel lanes.

Specifically, each bridge unit will organize one-way traffic, including 2 lanes for the main route, 1 emergency lane and 2 lanes for the parallel road. This expansion aims to solve the problem of synchronizing the scale across the entire Ring Road 3 route.

Implementation plan

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned the Binh Duong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to urgently prepare an adjusted Feasibility Study Report and submit it to the Department of Construction for appraisal before November 20, 2025. The Department of Construction will coordinate with relevant units to appraise and submit the project adjustment to the City People's Committee for approval in November 2025.

The Department of Finance is assigned to give opinions on capital sources and the ability to balance capital for the project as a basis for appraisal and approval.
