Son La athlete breaks national youth record in women's javelin throw

According to information from the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, the Son La athlete delegation participating in the 2023 National Youth Athletics Championship won 2 medals and broke the national youth record in women's javelin throw.

Athletes Ca To Uyen and Ca Thi Quyen received gold and bronze medals from the Organizing Committee.

The 2023 National Youth Athletics Championship will take place from August 2-12 in Da Nang . The Son La delegation participating in the tournament includes 1 coach and 3 athletes. At the end of the tournament, athlete Ca To Uyen won the Gold Medal and broke the national youth record in the women's javelin throw with a score of 48.2m; recognized as a national champion. Athlete Ca Thi Quyen won the Bronze Medal in the women's javelin throw with a score of 39.36m. Son La ranked 20th overall.

This year’s tournament brings together nearly 400 athletes from 51 units nationwide to compete in 26 events for men, 26 events for women and 2 mixed relay events. This is an annual tournament to evaluate the training of young athletes in localities and sectors. At the same time, it selects outstanding athletes to add to the national youth team to participate in international high-performance tournaments.
