The series of cultural activities themed "Returning to the Village to Welcome Spring" is organized to honor heritage values and provide visitors with a diverse and colorful early Tet (Lunar New Year) experience. This is not simply a tourism event, but also carries profound significance in preserving and introducing the treasure trove of intangible cultural heritage of the ethnic communities in Northern Vietnam to the public.
On January 17th (Saturday), at the Muong ethnic village space (Ethnic Villages Area I), a comprehensive art program will be held, recreating the vibrant and characteristic Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere of the highlands. Artists will perform a selection of folk songs and dances, authentically reflecting the spiritual life and the beauty of the people's labor. Visitors can directly participate in the solidarity circle dances and join the bamboo pole dance with the artists to the resounding rhythm of gongs and drums – sacred symbols representing the unity and vibrant spirit of the community.

Furthermore, on January 18th (Sunday), at the Ethnic Villages Area I, the Muong ethnic community will reenact the Kitchen God Worship Ceremony (Khoong Bep). This is a long-standing custom, reflecting the principle of remembering one's roots and showing respect for ancestors and the fire god – the deity who keeps the fire warm and brings prosperity to each family. In the traditional stilt house setting, the rituals will be meticulously performed by the shaman, from preparing the offerings to reciting prayers for a prosperous new year and a bountiful harvest. Through this activity, the public will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy of life and the humanistic values hidden within the kitchens of ancient Vietnamese people in general and the Muong people in particular.
Along with the highlight events, visitors to the Village during these days can also experience a series of regular cultural activities associated with the living space of the local people. Here, traditional folk games are organized interspersed, creating a beneficial playground for all ages. Indoors, visitors can participate in traditional games like "chắt" (a traditional game), "ô ăn quan" (a board game), "cờ ca rô" (a checkers game), or enjoy bamboo puppet shows. Meanwhile, the outdoor space is vibrant with active games such as stilt walking, bamboo pole jumping, swinging, and seesaws under the lush green trees, providing a relaxing and close-to-nature feeling.

Visitors can try their hand at painting statues, sand art, making bamboo dragonflies, or creating on handcrafted wooden products to preserve memories. In particular, the ethnic costume experience space is always an attractive destination, where visitors can wear the exquisite brocade dresses of the highland people and capture beautiful photos against the backdrop of original stilt house architecture in the heart of the capital city.
Through its activities, the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village continues to affirm its role as a center for heritage preservation and an ideal cultural destination, helping visitors fully experience the atmosphere of "village Tet" and the spirit of solidarity among ethnic groups in the days leading up to the traditional Lunar New Year.
