On the evening of December 1, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Anh Tu shared with the media about the team's preparations, as well as adjustments related to the match schedule and venue of Group B.
Mr. Tran Anh Tu was assigned by the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee to lead the Vietnam U22 team at the 33rd SEA Games.
Regarding the opening match of U22 Vietnam being moved to December 3 instead of December 4 as previously scheduled, Vice President Tran Anh Tu said this change somewhat affected the preparation plan, but the whole team proactively responded.
He said: "The schedule adjustment forces us to make certain changes. VFF has quickly built plans, including the possibility of playing in Bangkok or Chiangmai.
When the 33rd SEA Games organizing committee finalized the competition venue in Bangkok, VFF immediately sent two officials to the site to prepare all logistics.
Up to now, the team's travel process from entering the country to checking into the hotel has been smooth and favorable."

Vice President Tran Anh Tu said that the traffic problems in Bangkok were anticipated early, so the team was proactive in planning their travel to ensure that they were not affected.
"The whole team's training atmosphere is very good. Everyone is ready for the upcoming matches," Mr. Tran Anh Tu emphasized.
When asked about the match against U22 Laos in the opening match, Mr. Tran Anh Tu affirmed that the preparation of U22 Vietnam was not just limited to a few days of gathering in Ba Ria, but was a long process.
He emphasized: "If we look at the time of concentration after the round of 16 of the National Cup, or the fact that some players of the Hanoi Police Club arrived late, we can see that the time is urgent. But in reality, the U22 Vietnam squad has been stable and has been trained continuously throughout the past year.
We had three training trips in China, a quality training trip in Qatar, won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, and then won all the matches in the 2026 Asian U23 qualifiers. That was a thorough and consistent preparation process to help the team reach the best condition for the 33rd SEA Games."
Vice President Tran Anh Tu also affirmed that VFF will continue to stand side by side, ensuring all professional, logistical and spiritual conditions for coach Kim Sang Sik and his team to compete and achieve the best results at this congress.
