On the morning of September 11, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) issued a document approving Gia Dinh Club to change its name to Xuan Thien Phu Tho and use Viet Tri Stadium as its home stadium for the 2025-2026 National First Division.

Accordingly, Xuan Thien Phu Tho Club was granted an exception and represented Phu Tho province in national professional tournaments. Meanwhile, the old Phu Tho team was removed from the system after being punished by the World Football Federation (FIFA) last year.

Previously, after Hoa Binh Club failed to change its name to Phu Tho and announced its withdrawal from professional tournaments, Gia Dinh Club suddenly moved its "household registration" to Phu Tho and sent a document asking VFF to change its name to Xuan Thien Phu Tho.

Also on the morning of September 11, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) held a drawing ceremony to reschedule the 2025-2026 National First Division tournament.

With 12 clubs, the tournament will have a total of 22 rounds with 132 matches, the starting time remains unchanged, from September 19, ending in June 2026.

Xuan Thien Phu Tho Club will meet Dong Thap in round 1 taking place on September 19 at Cao Lanh Stadium.
