[Video] Draft documents of the 14th National Congress emphasize the key role of foreign affairs

Forty years since the country's reform, Vietnam has gained an increasingly high position in the international arena. Commenting on the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress, many opinions said that the valuable lessons of diplomacy over the past 40 years will continue to illuminate the country's development path.

Over the past nearly four decades, the foreign policy of "multilateralization and diversification of international relations" and "Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community" has become the guiding principle for Vietnam's foreign affairs activities.

In the draft document submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, "foreign affairs and international integration" are proposed to be placed on par with national defense and security, becoming an "important, regular" task. This proposal received high appreciation from diplomats .
