Nha Ho Institute was appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to test the quality of plant seeds.

Nha Ho Institute is assigned to test seed quality, helping to improve testing efficiency, meeting management needs and testing services in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands.

The Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) has just issued Decision No. 4412/QD-TTTV dated November 27, 2025 on designating an organization to test plant varieties. Accordingly, the Agricultural Plant Variety Testing Department under the Nha Ho Cotton Research and Agricultural Development Institute (Nha Ho Institute), located at Nha Ho 2 residential group, Do Vinh ward, Khanh Hoa province, is designated with testing activity code TN 102-25 BNN.

The department is assigned to carry out quality testing activities for plant seeds including: pure rice seeds, two-line hybrid rice seeds, three-line hybrid rice seeds and hybrid corn seeds. The tests are carried out according to TCVN 8548:2011 method, including: determining purity, different species/weed seeds, different varieties of seeds, germination rate, 1,000-seed weight and moisture content (depending on each type of seed).

The operation of the Agricultural Plant Variety Testing Laboratory (according to TCVN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards) not only helps the professional activities of the Nha Ho Institute become more effective, but also creates conditions for organizations and individuals to test rice varieties (including: purebred rice, 2-line and 3-line hybrid rice) and hybrid varieties faster, more accurately and less expensively. Thereby, contributing to meeting the requirements of state management as well as the demand for seed testing services of organizations and individuals in the South Central and Central Highlands regions.

The decision is valid for 5 years and the Dental Institute must comply with the regulations and instructions of the competent State management agency and take full responsibility for the test results conducted by its unit.
