Taekwondo, jujitsu open the gold medal?
Vietnamese sports will simultaneously compete in 20 events on December 10, in which our athletes have the opportunity to win gold medals in 6 events. First of all, we must mention taekwondo (competing in Bangkok) with 6 events, which is the strength of the Vietnamese team. From 11am, Nguyen Trong Phuc and Nguyen Thi Kim Ha will compete in the mixed doubles event. At 1pm, Pham Quoc Viet, Nguyen Thien Phung, Nguyen Trong Phuc will compete in the men's team. The women's team with Le Ngoc Han, Le Tran Kim Uyen and Nguyen Thi Kim Ha will compete at 2pm. Finally, the freestyle mixed team with 3 men and 3 women will compete at 3pm. The next event will be moved to the next event after each event is finished, so if the taekwondo athletes compete well, the Vietnamese team will likely win gold medals at noon on December 10. Among these, Nguyen Thien Phung's experience of winning 7 world championships and 5 consecutive SEA Games medals (gold medals at SEA Games 31 and 32) will contribute significantly to increasing hope for Vietnamese taekwondo.

The canoeing competition near the coastal city of Pattaya is also likely to have a gold medal around 3:00 p.m. on December 10. In the 6 final events, including 4 short-distance events and 2 obstacle courses, the biggest hope is placed on Nguyen Thi Huong, the athlete who won 5 gold medals at the 31st SEA Games and won a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Nguyen Thi Huong - Diep Thi Huong will compete in the C2 500m double sculls. In addition, rower Pham Hong Quan in the C1 500m single sculls can also create a surprise. The qualifying round starts at 9:00 a.m. and the final at 3:00 p.m. Hopefully the "Huong twins" will win the gold medal.
The third sport that Vietnam can win gold medals in on the first day is jujitsu with 6 final events, including 4 duels and 2 matches, starting at 9am. In which, the duels will compete for medals in the morning, and the duels with 4 weight classes of 52kg and 63kg for women, 62kg and 77kg for men will compete in the qualifying round from 9am, the final at 5pm. The biggest hope is placed on martial artist Dao Hong Son (men's 62kg category), who won 2 gold medals at SEA Games 31 and 32 and is currently the world champion. In addition, Vu Thi Anh Thu in the women's 63kg category is also a high hope.
Green track waiting for golden hat-trick
The qualifying round for swimming will have 6 events starting at 9am and the final at 6pm on December 10. Vietnam will participate in the 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 200m medley for men, 200m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 4 x 100m freestyle relay for women. The focus will be on the male swimmers. Tran Hung Nguyen, who won 2 individual gold medals at the 31st and 32nd SEA Games, will have the opportunity to defend his gold medal in his signature event, the 200m medley. During yesterday's practice session in the pool in Bangkok, Hung Nguyen shared his ambition to make a hat-trick of gold medals in 3 consecutive SEA Games. In addition, Vietnamese-French swimmer Luong Jeremie Loic Nimo, who won 2 bronze medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle for men, also hopes to change the color of his medals.

Petanque has 4 events, starting at 9am and the final at 4pm. The female players are still expected to win a lot because recently the Vietnamese female trio won the world championship in France after beating Thailand as well as winning the silver medal at the Southeast Asian championship in Malaysia. Experienced athletes such as Nguyen Thi Thi, Lai Thi Dung, Nguyen Thi Thuy Kieu... are expected to win medals.
Also on December 10, the downhill mountain bike event will take place in Chonburi at 9:30 am with 3 athletes Bui Van Nhat, Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang and Chao Ong Lu Phim. Coach Le Nguyen Thanh Nhan said this is an extremely difficult competition, requiring will, determination and luck. Hopefully Vietnam will have a medal but it will be difficult to win gold.
