On the evening of November 1, FPT Play confirmed that it had acquired the broadcasting rights for SEA Games 33. FPT added that not only this unit but also at least two other TV stations also have the broadcasting rights for SEA Games 33.

Detailed information about the broadcasting copyright of SEA Games 33 will be announced by the units in the near future.

At the 33rd SEA Games, the host country requires each unit that wants to broadcast to pay a fee of 20,000 USD (more than 500 million VND). This is not the television copyright fee that the host country calls "broadcast participation fee".

Not long ago, when talking to Tuoi Tre, Mr. Tran Van Manh - General Secretary of the Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC) - said that there are 5 television units in Vietnam through VOC to connect with host Thailand to discuss owning the broadcasting copyright of SEA Games 33, including VTV, FPT Play and HTV.

How to negotiate will be up to the parties themselves. The Thai host is responsible for providing clean waves to the broadcasting units at the announced cost of 20,000 USD/television unit.

The 33rd SEA Games in Thailand took place from December 9 to 22 with about 574 sets of medals in 50 sports .
