On the afternoon of November 13, at the International Convention Center, President Luong Cuong hosted a solemn reception for King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein and a high-ranking delegation of Jordan.

Warmly welcoming King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein and the Jordanian high-ranking delegation on their official visit to Vietnam, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the visit will create new momentum, opening a new chapter in the friendly cooperation between the two countries, developing more deeply, comprehensively, substantially and effectively for the benefit of the two peoples, contributing to regional peace and prosperity.

The President emphasized that in the development process, Jordan will always have Vietnam - a sincere friend and reliable partner - by its side; and expressed his hope that Jordan - a close, reliable and sincere friend - will always be there to accompany Vietnam. The President wished the Vietnam-Jordan friendship to develop more strongly in the coming time.

Expressing his gratitude to the President, leaders and people of Vietnam for their warm and respectful welcome, King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people's self-reliance, endurance and hospitality. He said he had been looking forward to the visit for a long time and through the visit, he had learned more about the country and people of Vietnam.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein affirmed that although the visit was short, he had effective working sessions with Vietnamese leaders and businesses; and believed that on the basis of the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, the visit would open a new phase in the relationship between the two countries.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein emphasized that he will continue to promote the close relationship between the two countries with the President and Vietnamese leaders; and hopes to soon welcome the President and Vietnamese leaders to Jordan.

On the afternoon of November 13, King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan and his delegation left Hanoi, successfully concluding their official visit to Vietnam, at the invitation of President Luong Cuong. Seeing off the King of Jordan and his delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Ambassador of Vietnam to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and concurrently Jordan Nguyen Thanh Diep...

During the visit, the King of Jordan and the delegation laid wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs. General Secretary To Lam met; President Luong Cuong presided over the official welcoming ceremony and held talks with the King of Jordan. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with the King of Jordan.

At high-level talks, meetings and contacts, Vietnamese leaders emphasized that Vietnam and Jordan have many similarities in their indomitable spirit and perseverance in fighting for national independence and liberation.

Vietnam wishes to strongly, substantially and effectively promote multifaceted cooperation with Jordan, while attaching importance to consolidating relations with Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan - a country with an important position in the region.

The King of Jordan affirmed his wish to promote comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the field of cooperation between the private sector; strengthen political trust, expand defense and security cooperation, share science and technology experiences and promote people-to-people exchanges to enhance understanding between the two peoples. The King of Jordan and Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the Vietnam-Jordan Business Forum.

On the morning of November 13, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung worked with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Jordanian expatriate Ayman Al Safadi, discussing measures to implement the results of the visit to Vietnam by Jordanian King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein.

Comrade Le Hoai Trung said that Vietnamese leaders highly appreciated the visit, with its strategic and substantive contents, orienting the bilateral relations in the coming time; and requested the Foreign Ministries of the two countries to promote their pioneering role in promoting cooperation in all fields, promptly establish contact points, organize political consultations and appoint Honorary Consuls in each country.

The Minister also proposed consulting relevant ministries and branches to propose channels for dialogue and cooperation in national defense and security, agriculture, health care, education and training, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Jordanian diaspora affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Jordan and a gateway for Jordan to access the Southeast Asian market; agreed with the proposals of Minister Le Hoai Trung and affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jordanian diaspora will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam to develop a roadmap to implement these measures.
