According to a VNA reporter in Laos, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025) and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phonvihane, on the afternoon of November 26, a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos and agencies affiliated to the Embassy led by Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam visited the Lao Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Public Security to offer congratulations.
At the meetings, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam sent warm congratulations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day and the 105th anniversary of President Kaysone Phonvihane's birth; affirming that over the past half century, under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Laos has achieved many great achievements of important and comprehensive significance.
Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam emphasized that Vietnam always values Laos' achievements, considering them as its own achievements; at the same time, he expressed his belief that Laos will successfully organize the solemn rally to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Day and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phonvihane.
In recent times, bilateral defense and security cooperation between Vietnam and Laos has achieved many substantive results, becoming one of the important pillars of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides have closely coordinated in areas such as delegation exchanges at all levels; training; Party and political work; border management and protection; as well as mutual support at multilateral defense and security forums.
In the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue focusing on effectively implementing the contents of the Protocol and the Annual Cooperation Plan; step up coordination in propaganda and education about the great Vietnam-Laos friendship; and enhance the exchange of information and situations to promptly and effectively advise the Party and State leaders on strategic issues related to each country's defense and security.

For their part, Senior Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army and Senior Lieutenant General Khamking Phuilamanyvong, Deputy Minister of Public Security of Laos expressed their sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for always supporting and helping Laos, and at the same time gave an overview of the highlights of Laos as well as the process of building and growing of the Lao People's Army and the Lao Ministry of Public Security over the past 50 years.
Under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the country has developed steadily, people's lives have improved markedly, and the great national unity bloc has become increasingly strong.
The Lao Army and Police have always been the core and pioneering forces in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; affirming that all achievements over the past half century are associated with the great support, both material and spiritual, of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
Throughout the revolutionary struggle, Laos and Vietnam always stood side by side, fighting together against the common enemy; when Laos encountered difficulties, Vietnam always provided sincere and effective support.
The two leaders of the Lao Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security affirmed that they will continue to maintain and develop the special Laos-Vietnam relationship, especially in the field of defense and security; emphasizing that the field of defense and security is always an important pillar in maintaining regular exchanges, close coordination and serious implementation of cooperation agreements through each period; at the same time, thanked the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos for its many practical activities, contributing to acting as a bridge to promote relations between the two countries.
Both the Lao Deputy Minister of National Defense and the Lao Deputy Minister of Public Security expressed their belief that in the coming time, the relationship between Laos and Vietnam will continue to develop in depth, increasingly bear fruit and continue to be firmly consolidated, maintaining a core role in the overall comprehensive cooperation relationship between Laos and Vietnam./.
