Vietnam - Laos strengthen cooperation in the field of labor and meritorious people

The meeting aimed to promote the implementation of the contents agreed upon at the 9th Vietnam - Laos Labor Ministers' Conference held in Ninh Binh province in November 2025, contributing to strengthening the great friendship and special solidarity between the two countries.

At the meeting, Minister Phosay Sayasone expressed his pleasure to welcome Minister Do Thanh Binh in Laos during the Minister's working trip accompanying General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit and work in Laos.

The Lao Minister of Labor and Social Welfare emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation and continuously exchange experiences between the two countries, ensure resources for effective cooperation implementation, promote the participation of local authorities, and improve the capacity of civil servants and public employees in the fields of labor and social affairs, contributing to promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of both countries.

Thanking Minister Phosay Sayasone for his warm welcome, Minister Do Thanh Binh emphasized the attention of the Party and State of Vietnam to cooperation with Laos, in which General Secretary To Lam had many important meetings with General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith and senior leaders of Laos to increasingly improve the effectiveness of substantive cooperation, worthy of the long history and great relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

Minister Do Thanh Binh expressed his pleasure to attend the 48th Meeting of the Vietnam - Laos Intergovernmental Committee, co-chaired by the two Prime Ministers, with Minister Phosay Sayasone, to discuss many cooperation contents in various fields in the coming time, including labor and social affairs.

The Vietnamese Minister of Home Affairs hopes that the two Ministries will review all work and activities in the previously signed Agreements, Arrangements and Memoranda of Understanding; assess the implementation situation and results, and point out difficulties and problems that need to be resolved in order to propose specific implementation in the coming time.

Recalling the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of labor and meritorious people that was just signed in November 2025, Minister Do Thanh Binh asked Minister Phosay Sayasone to jointly implement the instructions of the two countries' senior leaders and make efforts to fulfill the commitments signed between the two sides.

Minister Do Thanh Binh proposed assigning tasks to relevant departments and offices of the two ministries to propose specific activities to realize commitments into clear results, while clarifying the need to perfect institutions and policies, sharing experiences in implementation and capacity building training, and being ready to share Vietnam's experiences in the field of labor and meritorious people.

Minister Phosay Sayasone expressed his agreement with the discussions and proposals of Minister Do Thanh Binh, hoping that the cooperation between the two Ministries will continue to develop, contributing to building and strengthening the friendly, evergreen, everlasting relationship between Vietnam and Laos, for the benefit and happiness of the people of the two countries.
