Expressing his pleasure at meeting the King again after their talks at the 47th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to continuously promote the Comprehensive Partnership with Brunei.

The Sultan of Brunei thanked the Government for the warm welcome given to the delegation and appreciated the strong development of the relationship between the two countries in recent times.

To further strengthen bilateral relations, the Prime Minister suggested that the two countries prioritize promoting a number of cooperation focuses, including economic, trade and investment cooperation in priority areas such as oil and gas, chemicals, Halal food processing, culture and tourism; Brunei continues to support Vietnamese enterprises in accessing Halal certification for export and participation in the global supply chain.

The Prime Minister also suggested that both sides strengthen maritime cooperation and combat illegal fishing. The two leaders also agreed to closely coordinate at international forums such as ASEAN and the United Nations.
