
On November 11, in the capital Maputo, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique coordinated with the Mozambique-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIMV) to organize the "Vietnam-Mozambique Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar".
Attending the workshop were: Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin; President of the Mozambique-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arlindo Duate; President of the Mozambique Industrial Association Paulo Chibanga; General Director of the Mozambique Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEX) Gil Bires; Head of the Trade Office, Embassy of Vietnam in South Africa concurrently in Mozambique Pham Hai, along with many Mozambican enterprises operating in many fields and interested in the Vietnamese market.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin emphasized that Vietnam and Mozambique have a traditional friendship and good cooperation in many fields, which have been nurtured over half a century of cooperation and mutual trust. The Ambassador emphasized that if political diplomacy builds trust, then economic diplomacy is the bridge to turn that trust into concrete results.
Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin affirmed that Vietnam and Mozambique are two highly complementary economies and there is still much room to expand cooperation further in potential areas such as trade, agriculture, processing industry, mining, renewable energy and information technology...
The Ambassador welcomed Mozambican businesses to come to Vietnam to learn about the market and seek business cooperation opportunities.
Within the framework of the workshop, delegates were provided with information through the presentation of the Vietnamese Embassy on the political, socio-economic situation and foreign policy of Vietnam, on the Vietnam-Mozambique cooperation relationship over the past 50 years as well as cooperation orientations in the coming time.
The presentation provided Mozambican delegates with a comprehensive view of Vietnam's development potential, open-door policy as well as prospects for promoting partnership between the two countries.
Attending online, Head of the Trade Department, Embassy of Vietnam in South Africa and concurrently in Mozambique Pham Hai also informed delegates about the potential and opportunities for trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, helping Mozambican businesses better understand the business environment, infrastructure, preferential policies... of Vietnam and potential cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
Representatives of the Mozambique-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Mozambique Industry Association and Mozambican enterprises highly appreciated the significance of the workshop and the role of the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique in bridging the business communities of the two countries, and expressed their desire to expand cooperation with Vietnamese partners in many fields, towards sustainable trade and investment cooperation and mutual development.

At the workshop, Chairman of the Mozambique-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arlindo Duarte particularly emphasized the importance of maintaining regular trade promotion activities, a practical tool to promote connections and enhance mutual understanding between the business communities of the two countries.
The highlight of the workshop was the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Mozambique-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mozambique Industrial Association, creating a foundation to promote closer coordination in supporting and connecting member businesses of the two associations, especially those interested in and oriented to cooperate with Vietnamese partners.
