The round-robin group stage matches will be played at Viet Tri Stadium and Lach Tray Stadium. Viet Tri Stadium, which hosted Vietnam’s home matches during the 2024 ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ campaign, will also be the venue for the two semi-finals, the third-place match and the final.
The 13th edition of the tournament will bring together national women's teams from eight AFF member countries, including defending champions the Philippines, four-time champions Thailand and three-time champions Vietnam, to compete for the title of Southeast Asian Women's Football Champion.
The teams will be divided into two groups in the official draw on June 9. The top two teams in each group after the round-robin stage will advance to the semi-finals, and the winners of the semi-finals will compete in the final.
Mr. Khiev Sameth – President of the ASEAN Football Federation, said: "The ASEAN Women's MSIG Serenity Cup™ 2025 marks an important milestone in our shared journey to elevate the importance of women's football in Southeast Asia. With the support of the Vietnam Football Federation, this event opens a promising new chapter for the region's most prestigious women's football tournament. We look forward to a tournament that will celebrate excellence, promote unity and inspire a new generation of female athletes across the region."
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – President of the Vietnam Football Federation, said: “Vietnam hosting the ASEAN Women's MSIG Serenity Cup™ 2025 is a great honor and a source of great pride, reflecting the remarkable development of women's football not only in Vietnam but also across the Southeast Asian region. This opportunity is not only a recognition of our commitment to women's football, but also a responsibility that we take on with all our heart. Together with the ASEAN Football Federation and strategic partners, we are committed to bringing a tournament that fully represents the spirit, technique and solidarity of ASEAN football.”
The ASEAN Women's MSIG Serenity Cup™ is Southeast Asia's premier international women's football tournament, with the predecessor being the AFF Women's Championship which was first launched in 2004.
Over 12 editions, the tournament has become a playground for the region’s best female players, while also providing opportunities for young talents to shine, with many quality and competitive matches. In the most recent edition in 2022, the Philippines team became the sixth champion in the history of the tournament, after a 3-0 victory over Thailand at home.
It was also the second consecutive time that Thailand lost in the final, after a dramatic 0-1 loss to Vietnam in extra time in 2019. However, Thailand is still the most successful team in the tournament, with championships in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2018. Vietnam won three titles (2006, 2012, 2019), Myanmar won twice, while Australia and the Japan U-23 team (guests) each won one championship.
