On the afternoon of November 12, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan on the occasion of the King's official visit to Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam welcomed King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein to Vietnam, emphasizing that the first head-of-state visit between Vietnam and Jordan took place at a very important time, on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1980-2025). General Secretary To Lam assessed that the upcoming year 2026 will be a meaningful year for the two peoples of Vietnam and Jordan, when Jordan celebrates the 80th anniversary of its National Day and the Communist Party of Vietnam holds its 14th National Congress - a Congress of great significance, setting out directions to bring Vietnam into a new era of development.
Appreciating the substantive results of the talks between King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein and President Luong Cuong, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam and Jordan have a lot of potential to further promote effective cooperation not only for the benefit of the people of the two countries but also for the benefit of the ASEAN region and the Middle East. General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening relations with Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan, a country with a very important position in the region.

General Secretary To Lam said that with the similarities in the policies of peace, independence, self-reliance, and cooperation for mutual development, Vietnam and Jordan will become each other's trusted partners in the two regions, promoting each other's strengths to make breakthroughs in the cause of development, for the benefit of the people of the two countries. General Secretary To Lam also welcomed Jordan's sending of a large-scale business delegation to accompany the King on this visit, contributing to improving the practical effectiveness of the visit.
King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein affirmed that he highly values this visit to Vietnam, agreeing with General Secretary To Lam's assessment of the importance of the current period for the development of the two countries and two peoples. The King of Jordan expressed his condolences for the great losses that the Vietnamese people have suffered from recent natural disasters.

Informing General Secretary To Lam about the specific and substantive results of his talks with President Luong Cuong, King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein affirmed that Jordan wishes to promote comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, especially cooperation between the private sectors of the two sides. In addition, the King hopes that the two sides will further strengthen political trust, expand cooperation in defense and security, share experiences and learn from each other in science and technology, and promote people-to-people exchanges to further enhance understanding between the two peoples. On this occasion, the King of Jordan invited Vietnam to attend the International Conference on Food Security that Jordan will host in the near future.
Regarding major orientations for bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Jordan in the coming time, General Secretary To Lam and King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein agreed that in the context of the complicated developments in the world and the region, Vietnam and Jordan need to promote cooperation to respond to new challenges. The two leaders also agreed on a number of specific measures to be implemented such as politics - diplomacy, defense - security, promoting and creating breakthroughs in economic, trade and investment cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, health and medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, energy, tourism, etc.; promoting cooperation and mutual support in multilateral forums, especially the United Nations, ASEAN and regional organizations in the Middle East.
