Vietnam and Venezuela strengthen bilateral tourism development cooperation.

On the sidelines of the UN Tourism General Assembly on November 9th, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong and the Vietnamese delegation held a bilateral meeting with Ms. Leticia Gomez Hernandez, Minister of Tourism of Venezuela, to discuss cooperation directions in the field of tourism between the two countries.

During the meeting, Minister Leticia Gomez Hernandez expressed her gratitude to the Vietnamese side for taking the time to receive the delegation within the framework of the General Assembly. She stated that Venezuela is actively promoting tourism development with the participation of businesses, travel agencies, content creators, and cultural institutions, thereby gradually expanding the promotion of the image of Venezuela and its people to the world .

She shared that the Venezuelan Ministry of Tourism had sent an invitation to the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to attend several upcoming tourism events in Venezuela, and expressed a desire to welcome Vietnamese tourists to visit the country, as well as to strengthen promotional activities to encourage more Venezuelan tourists to visit Vietnam. She stated that the Ministry regularly reports and updates the results of cooperation with Vietnam to the President of Venezuela, demonstrating the Venezuelan government's high interest in bilateral relations in the field of tourism.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong expressed his pleasure at meeting Minister Leticia Gomez Hernandez at a major UN Tourism event. The Deputy Minister emphasized that Vietnam and Venezuela have a strong and enduring friendship, and the Vietnamese people have always shown warm feelings and deep concern for the Venezuelan people despite the vast geographical distance.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong stated that both countries have great potential and advantages for tourism development, and that further extensive cooperation should be promoted, aiming to increase visitor exchanges, cooperate in promotion and advertising, train human resources, and share tourism management experience.

Minister Leticia Gomez Hernandez further informed that the Venezuelan Ministry of Tourism is currently consulting with the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation with Vietnam. After completing domestic procedures, Venezuela will discuss with Vietnam to finalize and sign the agreement as soon as possible.

She stated that this would be an important basis for both sides to develop a cooperation action program, with specific contents such as organizing famtrip delegations, sharing experiences in tourism development, and strengthening connections between tourism businesses of the two countries.

In addition, she proposed the idea of ​​developing a multi-route tourism product for Vietnamese tourists visiting Venezuela, allowing them to combine visits to countries in the Caribbean and the Americas, expanding opportunities for cooperation and attracting new tourist markets.

The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, demonstrating the determination of both sides to promote stronger tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela in the coming period.
