According to CIC's summary report, 2025 will be the year the banking sector accelerates the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in line with Resolution 57. Amidst both certain advantages and new challenges, 2025 will also be the first year of the synchronized implementation of several important regulations, notably Circular No. 15/2023/TT-NHNN on credit information activities and Decision No. 573/QD-NHNN on the credit information indicator system, demanding increasingly higher quality, timeliness, and accuracy of data.
To date, the national credit information database continues to expand and be cleaned up, containing approximately 55 million data subjects, with coverage reaching about 71% of the adult population. Information technology infrastructure and digital transformation have been accelerated, with the Host-to-Host connection rate with credit institutions reaching approximately 95%; the number of credit information reports provided by 2025 is projected to reach 106 million reports, far exceeding the set target.
Alongside this, the ecosystem of credit information products and services is increasingly being perfected; the quality of customer support has improved significantly; and information security and safety are continuously being strengthened, contributing to the effective operation of the State Bank of Vietnam, the business activities of credit institutions, and enhancing access to credit for people and businesses, creating an important foundation for CIC to implement its development goals in the period up to 2030.
Improving the efficiency of credit information
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ho Van Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Foreign Trade Commercial Bank (Vietcombank), highly appreciated the significance of the conference and affirmed the important role and contribution of the national credit information system, in which the Vietnam National Credit Information Center plays a core role. Vietcombank remains committed to the goal of credit growth associated with safety, efficiency, and sustainability, with risk management, digital transformation, and data capacity development as its foundation.
In 2025, Vietcombank continued to actively cooperate with CIC in exploiting customer credit information through the Host-to-Host method and website channel. For the Host-to-Host method, the bank added new products to its internal credit information system to enhance data exploitation capabilities and diversify information for business operations and management. The total number of inquiries through CIC during the year reached approximately 2.3 million, contributing to improving the overall efficiency of the credit information system.
Alongside data exploitation, Vietcombank is always acutely aware of its responsibility to provide complete, accurate, and timely credit information to CIC. In 2025, with close cooperation and active support from CIC, Vietcombank's staff completed the development of reporting programs and revised reports in a short time, ensuring the progress and quality met the requirements.
Specifically, Vietcombank has completed the review and upgrading of its system of indicators to maximize data utilization and meet the requirements for credit information reporting according to Circular 15 and Decision 573; and has fully and promptly implemented the amendments according to Decision 1457 of the State Bank of Vietnam. The bank has also reviewed, updated, and supplemented customer biometric data; updated address information according to the two-tiered government model; and standardized customer credit information, thereby contributing to improving the quality of data and the operational efficiency of the national credit information system.
