Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney have signed a contract to supply GTF engines and comprehensive maintenance services for 44 Airbus aircraft, worth approximately $5.4 billion.
The official document handover ceremony took place in the presence of General Secretary To Lam and representatives of the leaders of Vietnam and the United States, during the General Secretary's visit to Washington DC to attend the opening meeting of the Gaza Peace Council at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
The event took place against the backdrop of the continued strong development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States, especially in the economic, financial, and technological fields. On this occasion, the State Bank of Vietnam and the US Department of Treasury also issued a joint statement, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the macroeconomic and financial policy dialogue between the two countries.

Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of RTX – a leading US-based manufacturer of aircraft engines – have signed a contract for the supply of GTF engines and comprehensive maintenance services for 44 A321neo and A321XLR aircraft, with a total value of approximately US$5.4 billion.
According to the agreement, Pratt & Whitney will equip Vietjet with next-generation engines, optimizing operational efficiency, reducing operating costs, and lowering emissions, in line with Vietjet's sustainable development and green transformation strategy.
Vietjet and Griffin Global Asset Management signed a financing agreement for six Boeing 737-8 aircraft, worth approximately US$965 million.

Within the framework of the event, Vietjet also signed an aircraft financing agreement with the international institution Griffin Global Asset Management, providing financing for 6 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, worth approximately $965 million.
The agreement marks a significant step in Vietjet's strategy to diversify its international funding sources, while strengthening its financial capacity and capital structure in accordance with global standards.
The total value of the agreements exceeds $6.3 billion, increasing bilateral trade through cooperation in technology and finance, creating more jobs, and enhancing the value chain between the two economies.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, CEO of Vietjet, stated: "The agreements in the United States demonstrate Vietjet's strong commitment to increasing international cooperation, developing a modern and sustainable fleet. This is a crucial foundation for Vietjet to strengthen its financial capacity, improve operational quality, and promote long-term growth for the Vietnamese and international aviation industry."
The strategic agreements in Washington DC further affirm Vietjet's long-term vision – a dynamic, deeply integrated, and globally competitive multinational aviation group.
These collaborations also contribute to realizing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States, promoting the flow of capital, technology, and value chains between the two economies in a new phase of development.
