The "Happy Flight," organized by Vietnam Airlines in collaboration with the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), is not only a prominent activity at the beginning of the new year 2026 but also a humane message spread from the sky: Vietnam is a happy destination, where the values of connection, love, and sharing are always cherished.
The journey to happiness begins right on the ground. At the check-in area, passengers on flight VN1553 felt a unique atmosphere of happiness. The FID screen displayed the words "Happy Flight," a small detail but enough to evoke excitement for the first journey of the year, where passengers' emotions went hand in hand with the flying experience.
At the Lotus Lounge, 19 couples on the flight were presented with mascot costumes by Vietnam Airlines as a warm welcome. The familiar waiting area suddenly became warmer as smiles, glances, and everyday stories gradually connected the passengers.
Happiness is expressed through sharing and connection, as husbands and wives gently tie flower ribbons around their spouses' wrists. More than just a New Year's gift, these ribbons symbolize companionship and best wishes for the long journey ahead.
For the couple Nguyen Quynh Anh and Nguyen Quang Duy, after tying the flower ribbons, Nguyen Quang Duy happily shared: “This ‘happy flight’ is special, because it can be said that the flight is of national significance, but it’s even more special for us because this is my wife’s first time flying. We are happy, joyful, and have gained more faith in the enduring bond of marriage because we witnessed and accompanied other couples, with many different circumstances, many years, and many different loves.”
Couples signed autographs on a special Vietnam Airlines model aircraft as a way to preserve the shared memory of the "Happy Flight," where each person's happiness blended with the shared happiness of all.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, from the Department of Grassroots and External Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), and Mr. Vuong Phuc Nghia, Deputy Head of Communications, Vietnam Airlines, along with the couples and singers Erik and Lam Bao Ngoc, took a commemorative photo with the model airplane. The "Happy Flight" left a beautiful image of the collaboration between organizations and communities, and the positive values that Vietnam strives for.
The joy extended all the way to the boarding gate. Passengers were warmly welcomed by Vietnam Airlines staff and the organizers of the "Happy Flight" event. The waving hands of Vietnam Airlines ground staff conveyed wishes for safety and happiness, concluding the journey on the ground and opening the way for a flight carrying love to take off from Vietnam.
From an altitude of thousands of meters, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ), shared heartfelt words with passengers: “The Happy Flight is a meaningful continuation of the Vietnam Happy Fest 2025, a vibrant symbol of the message we want to spread: The happiness of each family is the foundation of a nation's happiness.”
He emphasized the significance of the "Happy Flight" as a New Year's greeting and a demonstration of the collaboration between Vietnam Airlines and the Department of Grassroots and External Information in spreading a positive, humane, and culturally rich image of Vietnam.
The message of a happy and radiant Vietnam continues to be conveyed to passengers through small gifts from sponsor Hong Ha. Each gift given, each radiant smile from Vietnam Airlines flight attendants, is a moment that further amplifies the happiness of Vietnam.
The sweet melodies of the song "Changing Seasons" and the appearance of singer Erik and Lam Bao Ngoc created a warm musical atmosphere and helped spread feelings of happiness on this special flight at the beginning of the year.
Singer Erik emotionally shared: ““The Happy Flight” is an incredibly special and unforgettable memory for Erik, as it was the first time Erik sang on an airplane. I am truly moved because after accompanying 80 couples in the Vietnam Happy program, this time I have the opportunity to meet and spread love with Lam Bao Ngoc through the activities of the Happy Flight.”
In the passenger cabin, amidst the joyful sounds that acted as a catalyst for connecting emotions, each passenger sent their own blessings on greeting cards, wishing for Vietnam's happiness to soar to new heights.
