Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines has added 60,000 seats on nearly 300 flights, focusing on the peak period from February 9th to March 3rd, 2026 (i.e., from the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month to the 15th day of the 1st lunar month), to serve the travel, visiting relatives, and spring excursion needs of passengers nationwide.
The routes with increased capacity in this phase mainly originate from Ho Chi Minh City, including: Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi , Vinh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Hue, Chu Lai, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, and Phu Quoc.
In addition, Vietnam Airlines has also launched four more routes departing from Hai Phong, including: Hai Phong – Nha Trang, Can Tho , Buon Ma Thuot, and Phu Quoc, contributing to meeting the diverse travel needs of passengers and reducing pressure on main routes during the peak Tet holiday season.
The proactive increase in supply capacity in a short period demonstrates Vietnam Airlines' readiness in terms of resources, operational capacity, and high-demand service spirit, aiming to ensure safe, convenient, and smooth travel for passengers during the Lunar New Year of the Horse.
During peak periods, Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers proactively plan, book, and purchase tickets early through the Vietnam Airlines website, mobile app, or the airline's official ticket offices and agents. Passengers are also encouraged to check in online within 24 hours before departure via the website, mobile app, VNeID, call center, or at self-check-in kiosks at the airport.
In particular, passengers are encouraged to use biometric technology during check-in to shorten waiting times. Passengers who have completed online or biometric check-in and do not have checked baggage can proceed directly to the security screening area, helping to reduce congestion at the airport during peak hours.
