Outstanding coverage
Viettel Group said that from the beginning of 2025, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 193 on piloting a number of special mechanisms and policies, creating breakthroughs in science , technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
Next, according to detailed instructions in Decree No. 88 of the Government , the State will support businesses to deploy 5G network infrastructure nationwide if at least 20,000 5G transmission stations are accepted and put into use from February 19 to December 31, 2025.
This is a special policy, aiming to create a breakthrough in national digital transformation, realizing the goal of advanced and modern digital technology infrastructure, nationwide 5G coverage by 2030 of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation (Resolution 57).
From now until the end of December 2025, Viettel continues to aim to exceed its commitment, installing 23,500 new stations, nearly 4 times the number of stations installed in 2024.
Thus, with the new deployment, Viettel will own the largest 5G network in Vietnam with a cumulative 30,000 stations, 5G coverage to 90% of outdoor areas and 70% of indoor areas nationwide, including both urban and rural areas.
Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, said Resolution 57, with its focus on promoting breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, has created strong momentum for Viettel.
"Viettel recognizes its responsibility and concentrates all resources to deploy 5G network infrastructure as soon as possible, which is the technology platform to serve the Government, businesses and people in digital transformation effectively," Mr. Tao Duc Thang emphasized.

Superior in technology
According to Viettel's leader, Viettel's 5G network not only has a large coverage area, but also has a superior advantage in modern technology. Viettel is the only enterprise to deploy the 5G SA (Standalone) network, which is a complete 5G network, all core network components to radio transmitters are of the 5G network generation, which can reach speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
In real-world usage conditions, 5G speeds are 15 to 20 times faster than 4G.
In addition, some "exclusive" applications of 5G SA include: Network Slicing allows configuring separate networks for each customer group according to needs, customers needing ultra-low latency, private networks with high security capabilities for security and defense; Telemedicine takes advantage of ultra-low latency <1ms and high reliability (99.9999%); Smart cities and smart factories connect millions of IoT devices within one km² to operate sensors, real-time monitoring and automation.
Viettel has also brought its self-researched and produced 5G ecosystem into the national infrastructure on a large scale, including 5G gNodeB broadcasting station, 5GC core network system and vOCS 4.0 billing system.
