The B200 supercomputer system boasts a performance of up to 1.5 ExaFLOPs FP8, equivalent to 1.5 trillion calculations per second.
On February 6th, the Vietnam Military Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ) officially put into operation the first NVIDIA DGX B200 supercomputer system owned by Vietnam. This is the world's most advanced high-performance computing infrastructure platform, serving research and development of next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) models.
Viettel AI (Viettel Data Services and Artificial Intelligence Center) is the unit directly operating this supercomputer system and researching and developing AI models for Vietnam.
The B200 supercomputer system boasts a performance of up to 1.5 ExaFLOPs FP8, equivalent to 1.5 trillion calculations per second. This is one of NVIDIA's most advanced high-performance AI systems currently available, attracting significant interest and early orders from major technology companies and numerous countries due to its crucial infrastructure role in determining AI development capabilities. However, due to export control, supply chain, and strategic conditions, not all businesses or countries can easily access this platform.
Viettel invested in and put into operation the B200 supercomputer system in the context of Resolution No. 57/TW-NQ of the Politburo , which identified the requirement to master national strategic technologies, including artificial intelligence.
As the nation's leading technology corporation, Viettel deploys the most modern, high-performance computing infrastructure, ready to meet the needs of large-scale AI development in Vietnam, enabling the construction and operation of a domestic core AI infrastructure.

This is the first NVIDIA DGX B200 supercomputer system owned by Vietnam.
On this platform, AI systems can be developed and deployed safely and reliably, in compliance with Vietnamese law and adapted to local conditions.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Quy, Director of Viettel AI, shared: “Putting the B200 system into operation is not only an investment in computing infrastructure, but also a strategic step for Viettel to build sovereign and reliable AI capabilities for Vietnam. On this platform, Viettel can develop AI technologies to serve Vietnamese people and businesses, and accompany the Government in promoting digital transformation in a safe, effective, and sustainable way.”
Currently, Viettel AI has begun training and optimizing Vietnamese large language models (LLMs) to serve national digital transformation programs, while simultaneously developing multimodal models integrating text, images, audio, and video, and specialized AI generation models for each field.
The DGX B200 belongs to the Blackwell generation – the world's leading advanced GPU architecture, offering efficient processing of complex computational tasks and large-scale AI models. This platform is being considered by leading technology companies such as OpenAI, Meta, Amazon, and Tesla for training and operating large-scale AI models. Compared to its predecessor, the B200 boasts three times higher training performance and up to 15 times faster reasoning.
Deployed at the Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center, the first B200 supercomputer system owned by Vietnam will become Viettel's core AI infrastructure and long-term strategic computing platform. Based on this, Viettel is ready to share computing power with partners, research institutes, and Vietnamese businesses, contributing to the development of the domestic AI ecosystem towards self-reliance, security, and sustainability.
