Electric vehicles are a growing trend in the Vietnamese market, and brands that capitalize on this trend will quickly gain market share. VinFast is making rapid strides in this race, transitioning from traditional gasoline-powered vehicles to electric ones.

Not only does the Vietnamese motorcycle manufacturer cover the segment from affordable student bikes under 10 million VND to popular models priced at 18-22 million VND and mid-range bikes at 30-40 million VND, but it also produces many high-end electric and touring motorcycle models.

The Touring electric motorcycle model has been registered by VinFast.

According to the latest industrial design patent, VinFast has registered a Touring electric motorcycle model. This electric motorcycle is specifically designed for long-distance trips, touring, or intercity travel thanks to its comfortable riding position, long range per charge, and convenient luggage carrying capacity.

Based on the design sketches, the new electric motorcycle appears to have a style reminiscent of touring-style maxi-scooters like the BMW C 400 GT or Yamaha TMax 560.

In terms of design, the bike stands out with its front end featuring an X-shaped headlight cluster and a large windscreen, characteristic of this long-distance electric motorcycle. The handlebars are quite compact, and a digital instrument panel will be standard equipment.

The seat of VinFast's Touring electric scooter is designed to slope upwards towards the rear, quite similar to Honda's PCX scooter. The rear fender area is heat-dissipating, and the brakes are standard disc brakes. The taillights are LED, and the turn signals are positioned separately on either side.

One of the details that sets this model apart is its mid-mounted engine, a design quite common in high-end, high-powered vehicles, and the battery located under the flat floor.

For vehicles designed for long-distance travel, the power output is typically around 50 kW, and the range is approximately 150 km per charge. Currently, the Vietnamese manufacturer has not disclosed any information, but it is highly likely that the vehicle will have either a traditional charging configuration or a battery swapping system.

According to VinFast's announced plan, high-powered electric motorcycles such as the Touring model are expected to go on sale from the fourth quarter of 2026. At this point, it can be seen that VinFast's high-powered models will not face competition from rivals, as most of them are mass-market vehicles.
