Antonio Carbajal is an icon of Mexican and world football, as he was the first player to participate in five World Cups and to have played in all of them.
During his career, Mr. Carbajal "kept the goal" in 47 matches for the Mexican national team. He attended the World Cup in Brazil in 1950, Switzerland in 1954, Sweden in 1958, Chile in 1962 and England in 1966.
Currently, the famous players who have equaled the record of 5 World Cup appearances of the legendary Antonio "Tota" Carbajal include: Lothar Matthaus (Germany); Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Lionel Messi (Argentina), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and his compatriots Rafael Marquez, Guillermo Ochoa and Andres Guardado.
