Starting from December 10, all visitors purchasing tickets to visit Ha Long Bay will be required to provide detailed personal information such as Citizen Identification Card (CCCD) or passport. This is a new regulation issued by the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board to improve management efficiency and ensure safety for visitors.

Request specific information for each subject
Under the new regulations, the provision of personal identification information applies differently to each group of visitors:
- For Vietnamese tourists: Citizen ID number must be provided. In case of not being old enough to be issued with CCCD, tourists must provide personal identification code.
- For international visitors: Passport number and nationality information required.
- For children or people without identification documents: It is necessary to provide information of the accompanying guardian or sponsor, including full name, CCCD or passport number and contact phone number for verification when necessary.
Purpose and place of application
Tourists will provide the above information to ticket sellers and control staff at two main ports, Ha Long International Passenger Port and Tuan Chau International Passenger Port.
The Management Board of the Ha Long - Yen Tu World Heritage Site affirmed that the collection of this data is to serve state management, complete the database for the electronic ticket sales system and especially to ensure maximum safety for visitors throughout the tour.
All personal data collected will be kept confidential and used only for tourism management purposes in accordance with current regulations, while ensuring the privacy of tourists. This regulation is considered a step closer to the previous one, when tourists only needed to provide basic information such as full name, age and nationality.
