
Accordingly, at about 5:10 a.m. the same day, the vehicle with license plate TV-9041-TS was operating at coordinates 09°52'430”N – 106°43'630”E when it suddenly sank due to bad weather, big waves and strong winds.
On board were two crew members: Lam Thanh D. (born in 1980, registered permanent residence in Duyen Hai ward, Vinh Long province) and Tran Van N. (born in 1997, registered permanent residence in Ky Lac commune, Ha Tinh province).

Upon receiving the news, the unit promptly dispatched a crew of BP 16-12-01 with 10 officers and soldiers to quickly move to the location of the vehicle in distress.
At 9:30 a.m., the rescue ship approached and rescued both crew members who were exhausted after many hours at sea.
Immediately after being brought aboard, the medical staff of the Border Guard Squadron 2 examined and provided initial health care to the two victims. By the time they were handed over to shore, the health of the two crew members had stabilized and their spirits had gradually recovered.
