The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province recently held a ceremony to celebrate and reward coaches and athletes who achieved outstanding results at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33).

At the recent 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand, Vinh Long province had 2 coaches and 17 athletes participating with the Vietnamese sports delegation. This is the highest number of coaches and athletes the province has ever had to participate.
Athletes from Vinh Long province excelled, winning medals in 9 out of 10 events, with 5 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals in sports such as swimming, taekwondo, and sepak takraw.
Mr. Cao Quoc Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, said that Vinh Long province is the leading locality in the Mekong Delta region in terms of the number of medals won, and is among the top 10 provinces and cities nationwide. Mr. Dung acknowledged and praised the contributions of the province's coaches and athletes to this achievement.
In the coming period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long will continue to advise the province on solutions to improve the quality of training, coaching, discovery and nurturing of sports talents. The goal is to achieve even greater success in regional and international competitions.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province awarded certificates of merit to 23 individuals for their outstanding achievements at the 33rd SEA Games; and awarded a certificate of merit to athlete Hang Thi Diem My for winning a gold medal at the 2025 Vovinam World Championship.
