
The VNeID application (also known as electronic identification account) was developed by the National Population Data Center ( Ministry of Public Security ), built on the basis of identification database, population and electronic authentication system.
Each VNeID account contains a personal identification code - a 12-digit number assigned to each citizen, used to authenticate identity, perform civil transactions, administrative procedures and connect to the National Population Database.
Some documents have been integrated on VNeID, allowing them to be used instead of hard copies such as ID cards, social security numbers, driver's licenses, vehicle registrations, temporary residence papers, temporary absence papers...
With the strong development of e- Government , integrating personal documents into the VNeID application not only helps people save time, but also reduces complicated administrative procedures, improving experience and convenience.
Recently, VNeID has updated version 2.2.4 with many new features to simplify procedures. Specifically, VNeID adjusted and updated 7 new features:
1. Update and adjust the product origin lookup feature.
2. Add and integrate dependents' academic records.
3. Update passport information integration.
4. Update and adjust public services: Judicial records; Registration and management of residence; Issuance and management of identity cards.
5. Supplementing information on Land Use Rights Certificates to State agencies.
6. Additional integration of the National Law Portal.
7. Bug fixes.
People can update the VNeID application to version 2.2.4 at the Google Play app store (for Android) and App Store (for iOS) to experience and use these new features.
Previously, Decree 280/2025 of the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 23/2015 on issuing copies from original books, certifying copies from originals, certifying signatures and certifying transaction contracts, was amended and supplemented by Decree No. 07/2025, effective from November 1.
Decree 280/2025 supplements Clause 8 and Clause 9, Article 9 of Decree 23/2015, stipulating that the person requesting authentication is not required to submit or present the original or a copy of the documents and papers that have been integrated on VNeID when the person requesting authentication has presented the corresponding information from VNeID.
That means, from November 1, people only need to present information directly on the VNeID application when going for authentication, without having to bring a series of original documents or copies like before.
