The Vietnamese women's futsal team defeated Thailand to win the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship in the Philippines. Immediately after the final match on the evening of November 21, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) awarded the home team a bonus of VND600 million.
In addition to the championship cup and the collective award from the organizing committee, the Vietnamese team also won 2 individual awards. Nguyen Phuong Anh was the top scorer - the player who scored the most goals in the tournament with 4 goals. Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang was the best player of the tournament.

The Vietnamese women's futsal team is the first champion of the new edition of the Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship. Previously, there was a tournament held in 2013 for women's futsal teams in the Southeast Asian region. The Vietnamese team also won the championship.
The 2024 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship will take place in Pasig, Philippines from November 16 to November 21. The Vietnamese team will play 5 matches, including 2 matches against Thailand.
Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team defeated Myanmar, Indonesia and the Philippines to secure a place in the final. In the group stage match, the Vietnamese team lost 0-3 to Thailand.
However, in the rematch for the championship, the Vietnamese team excellently defeated their opponents from the land of golden pagodas. Nguyen Phuong Anh scored both goals in extra time.
