Vietnamese boxer knocks out Korean expert at AFC 39

VHO - The matches of the professional MMA tournament Angel's Fighting Championship - AFC 39 took place on the evening of December 6 at The Grand Ho Tram Strip (HCMC) amid the excitement of many martial arts fans. Notably, boxer Luu Duc Manh delivered a miraculous knockout, defeating the Korean expert in the 61kg category.

In the 61kg match, Luu Duc Manh, a student of the "undefeated" in the Vietnamese Muay Thai community - Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat, faced fighter Kim Won Gi (Korea), also making his own mark in his 10th professional MMA match.

After a period of probing with tower-breaking shots, Duc Manh suddenly stunned his opponent with a perfect left foot kick.

The attack created an opportunity for the Vietnamese boxer to press with extremely heavy punches, knocking out Kim Won Gi in the first round. This performance also helped Duc Manh receive the award for “Best Match of the Event”.

Other matches also had extremely eye-catching developments. Claudio Coutinho showed his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt skills when he defeated Rhino Casipe (Philippines) with a very dangerous choke, helping the Brazilian fighter to his first victory in the AFC arena.

In the opening match, British boxer Charlie Dando had a quick victory over Huynh Cong Quoc Hoa with a series of punches after knocking his opponent to the floor.

Two belts have worthy owners

In the highlight match, the 56kg belt is between the two boxers Italo Freitas (Brazil) and Joo Dong Jo (Korea).

Freitas's prowess was demonstrated early on with lightning-fast leg kicks to his opponent's thighs, significantly reducing Dong Jo's mobility and punches.

In particular, the Brazilian boxer grabbed his back and quickly ended the match with a choke. The owner of the 56kg championship belt was Italo Freitas.

In the penultimate match, the "extremely rare" confrontation at an MMA tournament in Vietnam took place in the heavyweight class (120kg) between Sung Hyo Jang (Korea) and Azza Azjargal (Mongolia) brought about breathtaking situations.

Both made the audience at The Grand Ho Tram Strip unable to take their eyes off the situations, clearly showing the drama of a heavyweight title match.

The stalemate continued until the end of round 3, forcing the judges to choose a winner on the scorecards. In the end, Azza Azjargal won to win the Angel's Fighting Championship heavyweight title.

AFC 39 event is organized by Cocky Buffalo - a martial arts training company and professional martial arts event organizer in Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF), Ho Chi Minh City Mixed Martial Arts Federation (HMMAF) and The Grand Ho Tram Strip.

The AFC 39th competition night ended with intense emotions from the audience as they witnessed world-class fighters in the ring. Angel's Fighting Championship and Cocky Buffalo Company continued to demonstrate their ability to organize quality matches, opening up many opportunities for MMA fighters in Vietnam to compete in a professional environment.
