Born into a poor peasant family under French colonial rule, Vo Van Kiet lacked the opportunity to pursue a formal, structured education. However, revolutionary life became his greatest "school." From a young age, he developed the habit of careful observation, listening to diverse perspectives, and questioning every issue. During the difficult and challenging moments of war, or at the complex turning points of history, Vo Van Kiet did not simply act on orders, but always pondered right and wrong, and the long-term consequences of each decision. He confronted practical challenges, including unavoidable mistakes, and viewed them as valuable lessons. This honesty with reality and with himself helped him to quickly become wary of dogmatic, mechanical thinking that was detached from life.

When assuming important leadership positions, especially as the head of Ho Chi Minh City, this spirit of self-learning became even more evident. Vo Van Kiet learned from the vibrant life of the city, from the very specific issues of production, circulation, and people's lives. He proactively listened to the opinions of workers, technical staff, intellectuals, and experts, without distinction between "sides" or "sides," as long as they possessed knowledge and a willingness to contribute. For him, learning from work and from people was the fastest way to understand reality and find ways to overcome difficulties.

At each stage, Vo Van Kiet's image emerges as a man constantly grappling with the specific problems of life, dissatisfied with existing models, and ready to explore new ways to overcome difficulties. He learned to avoid repeating mistakes, learned to dare to innovate, and learned to dare to take responsibility before history and the people.

Throughout the work, Vo Van Kiet is portrayed as a leader who did not rely solely on administrative orders, but always listened, engaged in dialogue, and sought opinions from various sources, especially intellectuals, experts, and those directly involved in production and social life. It was from this perspective that Comrade Vo Van Kiet made bold decisions, often ahead of the prevailing views of the time, thereby contributing to significant changes in the country.

It can be said that the book "Vo Van Kiet - Intelligence and Creativity" not only helps readers understand more about a talented leader, but also suggests an effective method of learning and working: learning from life, learning from the people, learning from the very challenges of practice. It is this persistent spirit of self-learning that forged the intellectual prowess of Vo Van Kiet - a leader who left a profound mark on modern Vietnamese history.
