Gyokeres case has another twist, father bursts into tears

Coach Mikel Arteta's transfer plans suffered a shock when Arsenal failed to complete the deal for Viktor Gyokeres on time to bring him and the team to Asia for a tour.

According to the Daily Mail , although the two sides are very close to a deal worth £55 million (plus £7.4 million in additional fees), the deal is currently at an impasse due to problems surrounding the payment structure, bonuses, as well as training contributions according to FIFA regulations.

Gyokeres was identified by Arteta as the number one striker needed. But instead of boarding the plane with Arsenal on July 19 as planned, the 27-year-old striker remained in Sweden. Portuguese media even revealed that Gyokeres' father cried because he lost faith in the possibility of the deal coming true.

The Gunners are urgently looking to add to their attack after months of struggling to find someone to share the burden with Gabriel Jesus. Gyokeres is expected to be the answer, not only because of his great performance but also because of his desire to "take revenge" in the Premier League after a disappointing time at Brighton.

If the deal is finalised in the coming days, Gyokeres could make his Arsenal debut against Villarreal on August 6, after the Asian tour. For now, he will miss friendlies against AC Milan, Newcastle and Tottenham as part of the team's tour of Singapore and Hong Kong.

Arsenal have announced the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea. The English winger is the team's fourth new signing, following Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga. The total cost of the four contracts is 70.8 million pounds. All are on the list of 30 players heading to Asia, while Gyokeres is still stuck at the negotiating table.
