Ha Long Bay boat capsize: 28 bodies found

During a storm on the afternoon of July 19, a tourist boat capsized in Ha Long Bay. By 9 p.m., authorities had rescued 10 people and recovered 28 bodies.

As of 9:00 p.m. on July 19, the Search and Rescue Steering Committee said that authorities had found 28 bodies.

According to the People's Army Newspaper , by 8:30 p.m. on July 19, the Search and Rescue Steering Committee said that authorities had rescued 10 people in the tourist boat capsized. According to initial information from the People's Army Newspaper , there were 48 passengers and 5 crew members on board.

According to information from VNA , by 8:45 p.m., authorities had found 27 bodies.

Mr. Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, along with provincial leaders, relevant departments and agencies were present at the scene to direct the rescue work, ensuring the safety of tourists and crew members.

At this point, rescue work is being urgently deployed, the highest priority is to ensure the safety of people and tourists.

Quang Ninh provincial leaders directed units and functional forces to urgently search, make every effort, mobilize maximum human resources and means to search through the night.

The Navy has established a search and rescue command center, dispatched 3 ships, 2 boats and 30 officers and soldiers of Brigade 170, Naval Region 1 to participate in search and rescue.

Quang Ninh Provincial Police mobilized forces and local police to focus on rescue and search for the missing person. Leaders and units of the Traffic Police Department went directly to the scene.

Meanwhile, Quang Ninh province directed hospitals to actively treat the lucky survivors.

At around 12:55, the Blue Bay 58 (license plate QN-7105) boat was carrying 48 tourists and 5 crew members, visiting route 2 (Sung Sot Cave - Ti Top Island) on Ha Long Bay. At 13:30, the boat encountered a sudden storm, and at 14:05, the GPS signal connection was lost.

Quang Ninh province continues to direct search and rescue forces to deploy measures to search for the remaining missing people at sea; focus on investigating the cause of the ship capsize; overcome the incident, and encourage the victims' relatives in accordance with regulations.
