Landslide on National Highway 6: Highway 6 has been reopened and 3 bodies of victims have been found.

A serious landslide at Km124+300 on National Highway 6, in Mai Chau commune, Phu Tho province, resulted in 3 deaths and 2 injuries. By early morning on December 15th, authorities had recovered all victims and restored traffic flow.

According to information from the Mai Chau Commune Police, on December 15, 2025, authorities found the body of the third victim in the landslide. The victim was identified as Bui Van C, born in 1973, residing in Muong Cong area, Tan Lac commune, Phu Tho province.

Earlier, at approximately 2:37 PM on December 14th, a particularly serious landslide occurred at Km124+300 on National Highway 6, in the Thung Nhuoi pass area, Mai Chau commune, Phu Tho province.

Immediately after the landslide occurred, Unit 4 of National Highway 6, under Construction Company 222, was present at the scene. The unit mobilized 5 excavators and 2 trucks, coordinating with local authorities and the rescue and relief forces of Phu Tho Provincial Police to search for victims and clear the road.

By 5 PM on the same day, the rescue team had found one body, identified as Pham Duc Th, born in 1997, from Quang Minh village, Me Linh commune, Hanoi city.

Cars and buses are now able to pass through the landslide area.

The second body found later was that of Bui Van Thin, born in 1980, residing in Muong Cong area, Tan Lac commune, Phu Tho province.

At the scene, thousands of cubic meters of soil and rocks from the embankment suddenly collapsed, completely burying the road and cutting off traffic in the area, causing traffic jams that lasted for many hours on both sides of the road.

The road is now open, but local authorities, traffic police, and the Highway 6 Unit 4 of Construction Company 222 are still on duty to ensure traffic safety and clean up the road to keep it clear and safe.
