School food case with "strange smell": Principal temporarily suspended

(Dan Tri) - Authorities have decided to temporarily suspend the female principal for 15 days in connection with the case in which people accused the school of contracting with a supplier of poor quality food.

On September 25, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong decided to temporarily suspend Ms. Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga, Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School, from work for 15 days, starting from September 24.

The reason given was that Ms. Nga did not perform her assigned duties and responsibilities at Trung Vuong Primary School.

The People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat assigned Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hien, Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat to be in charge of Trung Vuong Primary School during the time Ms. Nga is temporarily suspended from work. During this time, Mr. Hien is responsible for performing the duties of Head of the Department of Culture and Society and Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School.

Along with issuing the decision to temporarily suspend the above-mentioned female principal, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat also implemented a decision and inspection plan when there were signs of violations against the Party Cell Secretary and Party Committee of Trung Vuong Primary School, with Ms. Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga as Secretary.

As Dan Tri reported, on the social network Facebook, an account named "Nguyen Thanh" posted information about a unit repeatedly providing food of poor quality to Trung Vuong Primary School.

Accordingly, in the 2024-2025 school year, the supplier delivered to the school 10kg of smelly pork bones that showed signs of turning green; 35kg of frozen beef balls that smelled, without packaging or labels; 60kg of pork that, after boiling, had a dark green color and a strange smell; 50kg of wet, smelly pre-sliced ​​beef...

The incident caused public outrage, dozens of parents whose children are studying at Trung Vuong Primary School went to the school to ask the principal for information about the incident.

On September 17, the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province and the People's Committee of Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat requested the leaders of Trung Vuong Primary School to report the incident.

On September 20, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, signed a document requesting competent authorities to strengthen food safety control at educational establishments in the area. At the same time, he requested competent authorities to conduct surprise inspections of food safety in school kitchens and strictly handle violations.
