In the 2025-2026 school year, the province will have over 13,000 ninth-grade students, while high schools are expected to enroll approximately 9,600 tenth-grade students for the new school year. The disparity between the number of students and the enrollment quota makes the competitive pressure of the exam more apparent towards the end of the school year. Based on this reality, many junior high schools have developed phased review plans, focusing on reviewing foundational knowledge, increasing practice with sample questions, and organizing regular tests to accurately assess students' abilities. Through each test, teachers can adjust the review content, supplement any knowledge gaps, and appropriately group students to improve the effectiveness of the review process.

At Mai Pha Secondary School in Dong Kinh Ward, this school year, there are 90 ninth-grade students. To ensure that the review sessions are closely aligned with the students' actual abilities, the school has divided them into three groups to develop appropriate review content. For students with limited skills, teachers focus on reinforcing basic knowledge and test-taking skills; meanwhile, students with good and excellent academic performance are given more advanced questions to hone their ability to apply knowledge and solve difficult questions. Hoang Bao An, a student in class 9A1, shared: "During the review process, the teachers regularly conduct tests to assess each student's abilities, thereby dividing them into appropriate review groups. For students with better academic abilities, the teachers assign additional advanced questions and provide close guidance and support on each part of the knowledge to help us feel more confident during the exam preparation."
Besides reinforcing knowledge, many schools also focus on creating a friendly review atmosphere to reduce pressure on graduating students. In class, teachers not only provide direct guidance but also organize mutual support among students. In many review sessions, high-achieving students participate in guiding and exchanging ideas on how to solve problems with weaker students, thereby making it easier for them to access the knowledge. Ms. Hoang Thi Lien, a math teacher at Dong Banh Secondary School in Chi Lang commune, said: "We have the students thoroughly review the knowledge and formulas for each type of problem, and then have them practice regularly. During the teaching process, teachers also assign high-achieving students to support and tutor their weaker classmates."
At the final year of junior high school, exam pressure and psychological changes can easily lead many students to feel stressed and lacking in confidence. Therefore, creating a learning environment where students can exchange and share with teachers becomes an important part of the exam preparation process. Hoang Bao Yen, a student in class 9A at Tan Thanh Junior High School, Tan Doan commune, shared: "During the exam preparation, the teachers were always dedicated to explaining the parts of the knowledge we didn't understand. Not only in academics but also in psychological issues, the teachers always accompanied and encouraged us to be more confident on the path to pursuing our dreams."
Families also play a crucial role in supporting students during the final exam preparation period. Instead of putting pressure on grades, many parents choose to accompany their children by paying attention to their study time, rest, and mental state before the exam. Ms. Nguyen Bich Thuy, a parent of a 9th-grade student in That Khe commune, said: "The family always encourages and shares so that our child doesn't feel too much pressure. We create conditions for our child to proactively arrange their study and rest time appropriately, while also paying attention to their health and mental state so that they enter the exam in the best possible condition."
With proactive efforts from the school and the support of their families, 9th-grade students are gaining additional strength during this crucial exam preparation period. This not only helps them confidently enter the 10th-grade entrance exam but also provides essential preparation for students to develop a proactive mindset for their future studies.
