Ben Luc Commune: Strengthening inspection of inland waterway management activities

Continuing the planned inspection on strengthening state management of inland waterway vehicles, on November 11, the Ben Luc Commune Interdisciplinary Inspection Team organized inspection, propaganda and handling of violations in the field of inland waterway traffic at wharves and yards on the river route in the commune.

The interdisciplinary inspection team includes leaders, departments, and professional teams of the Ben Luc Commune Economic Department, Tay Ninh Province Inland Waterways Port Authority, Waterway Police Team No. 2 - Traffic Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police, Inland Waterways Port Authority Region III - Ben Luc, and Ben Luc Commune Police.

The inspection contents include the implementation of legal regulations at inland waterway ports; vehicle registration and inspection; professional certificates of vehicle operators; fire and explosion prevention and fighting work and handling of illegal material gathering yards and encroachment on waterway safety corridors.

The inspection team also organized propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic; instructed vehicle owners and people to use life jackets and life-saving equipment; and promoted the movement "Traffic culture for peace on rivers".

The inspection team worked with representatives of inland waterway port owners.

Check safety conditions for water vehicles

Through actual inspections at inland waterway ports of Thang Loi, Minh Quan, Quang Thinh, etc., the inspection team noted that the ports basically complied well with regulations on inland waterway port operations, ensuring the reception and operation of vehicles; requested that port owners maintain, periodically inspect and service safety equipment systems and signaling systems; regularly repair and replace degraded equipment to ensure safety for people and vehicles entering and exiting the port.

In addition, the delegation reminded the wharf owners to strictly comply with regulations on security and order in the wharf area, not to allow illegal activities to arise, strictly control the origin of goods transported on vehicles, and avoid transporting goods of unknown origin or exceeding the load capacity.

In addition, port owners need to comply with regulations on registration and residence of workers in the port area, ensuring order and security during operations.

The inspection team propagated and disseminated the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic, distributed leaflets to guide vehicle owners and promoted the movement "Traffic culture for river peace"
