Hien Quan Commune provides new houses for poor households

Immediately after the two-level local government came into operation, Hien Quan commune focused on stabilizing the organization and apparatus to operate in the spirit of "efficiency, effectiveness, efficiency"... Along with solving new tasks well, the work of ensuring social security for the people received special attention from the commune, including the program of eliminating temporary houses for poor households to soon stabilize their lives, at the same time demonstrating the urgent participation of the local Party Committee and government.

To concretize the above activity, Party Secretary Nguyen Chi Thang directly inspected and surveyed to support the construction of a house for Mr. Luong Huu Hoan in Zone 17, Bac Son Commune (old). Belonging to a poor household, Mr. Hoan is old and weak, and his house is dilapidated and leaky, not ensuring living conditions.

Understanding the difficult situation of his family, the Party Secretary of the commune and the departments and branches went to the field. The Secretary gave "hot" instructions: The Fatherland Front of the commune is the leading agency, urgently coordinating with the residential area and mass organizations, mobilizing all resources, including socialization, to soon support the construction of a new house for Mr. Hoan's family.

More specifically, the Party Secretary of the commune requested the residential area to establish a Management Board to build a house for Mr. Hoan and coordinate closely with relevant units to organize early construction to ensure quality and progress, helping the family to soon stabilize their lives.

Following the direction of the Hien Quan commune leaders, on November 27, the Management Board mobilized human resources to dismantle Mr. Hoan's temporary house to build a new house on the old land. On this day, many members of the Veterans Association, Youth Union, Farmers' Association... and the People cleared the ground, creating the most favorable conditions for the groundbreaking ceremony.

Mr. Hoan tearfully said: “My family has been very worried for many years living in this temporary house. We are exhausted, our finances are constantly difficult, if it weren’t for the help of the people in the commune and the neighbors, we don’t know when we would be able to have a new house to protect us from the rain and sun...”

Political and social organizations and people of Hien Quan commune joined in dismantling the temporary house and building a new house for Mr. Luong Huu Hoan's family, zone 17, Bac Son commune (old).

Not only by internal resources, with creative ways in the program to support poor households to eliminate temporary houses, Hien Quan commune has connected with a number of units such as People's Army Newspaper; Air Defense, Air Force... to mobilize hundreds of millions of VND to carry out this meaningful program.

During the reception of 60 million VND from the Air Defense and Air Force to support the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Zone 10, to remove the temporary house, comrade Nguyen Chi Thang, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee emphasized: This valuable support not only helps households have a spacious and solid house but also is a great source of encouragement, adding confidence and determination for households to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. These are also meaningful and deeply humane actions, clearly demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and affection of military agencies and units towards the People..."

At the call of the Party Committee and the commune government in the program to support house repair costs, the People's Army Newspaper gave support money to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lang, Zone 4, a former Youth Volunteer with difficult circumstances.

New houses are taking shape. The joy of welcoming a warm Tet is gradually appearing in every house. The spirit of “mutual love and support” spreads from the Party Committee and government to every citizen in Hien Quan, contributing to helping poor households stabilize their lives, effectively implementing the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and ensuring social security in the commune.

When people trust and agree, all work of the Party Committee and the government will be more favorable. And taking care of housing for people is the task that the commune is focusing on doing well to clearly affirm the responsibility of the Party Committee and the government when operating the new model.
