Immediately after the two-level local government model came into operation, the Party Committee, the government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune identified social security work, including eliminating dilapidated houses, as a key task. Through two rounds of screening in 25 villages, the whole commune identified 118 households in need of housing support, including 51 households with meritorious services, 67 near-poor households and households in difficulty.
From July 2025 to now, Kieu Phu commune has mobilized more than 10.56 billion VND to support the construction and repair of new houses for the beneficiaries. Particularly for the group of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs, the commune has built and repaired 38 houses, with a total cost of more than 4.27 billion VND from the state budget and socialized sources.
For near-poor and disadvantaged households, the second phase started construction of 68 houses simultaneously, with a total cost of 8.35 billion VND, mainly from support from T&T Group, Sunhouse Group and philanthropists. By the end of November 2025, the whole commune had 48 houses completed and put into use; dozens of others are in the finishing stage, expected to be handed over before December 22.

Speaking at the ceremony, the representative of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kieu Phu commune affirmed: The support for building a great solidarity house not only has material significance but also a great spiritual encouragement, helping people to stabilize their lives and gradually escape poverty sustainably. In particular, since the merger of administrative units, the work of caring for the disadvantaged has been implemented synchronously, closer to reality and more effectively.
A representative of Sunhouse Group shared: By accompanying the locality in social security programs, the enterprise wishes to contribute to spreading the spirit of responsibility to the community, adding motivation for people to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Many households who received their houses expressed their deep emotion and gratitude for the care of the government, the Fatherland Front, organizations, businesses and the community. For them, the new house is not only a shelter from the rain and sun but also a belief to start a better life.
In addition to the achieved results, Kieu Phu commune also frankly acknowledged some difficulties such as construction progress being affected by storms and rains, lack of construction workers at the end of the year, some households having problems with legal land or lack of agreement within the family.
In the coming time, the Party Committee, the government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kieu Phu commune will continue to request businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside the locality to accompany and support to continue to eliminate dilapidated houses and take better care of near-poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances.
The inauguration and handover of 41 solidarity houses this time is not only an important milestone in the local social security work, but also a clear demonstration of the spirit of great solidarity of the people, joining hands for a sustainable and meaningful Kieu Phu development.
