Nong Son Commune promptly rescued 24 workers from Quang Ngai who were isolated in the midst of fierce floods.

According to initial information, this group of workers came from Ba To district (old) of Quang Ngai province, exploiting acacia in the upstream area of Nong Son commune. Prolonged heavy rains and rapidly rising floodwaters caused landslides, isolating the group.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but all personal belongings and motorbikes were buried. The group lacked food and clean water, and was hungry and cold for many hours.

Immediately after receiving the news, the People's Committee of Nong Son commune urgently mobilized forces and vehicles to overcome the flood to approach the scene.

Under the direct command of the commune People's Committee leaders, the rescue team crossed many sections of rapid water and landslides, bringing all 24 people safely to the commune Military Command headquarters.

Local authorities arrange accommodation, health care, food, drinking water, medicine and essential items for workers.

In addition, the commune launched a fundraising campaign to support food and warm clothes for the labor group. Many organizations and individuals visited, gave gifts, and encouraged the laborers to overcome difficulties.

Mr. Ly Xuan Phong, Chairman of Nong Son Commune People's Committee informed that in addition to the above-mentioned group of workers, on October 29, the locality promptly rescued and took 2 children in Nong Son village to the emergency room; supported 2 workers trapped in the flood in Loc Dong village to safety.
