Mr. Duong Duc Lin, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Binh commune, affirmed that Loc Yen ancient village is a key element in the local tourism development strategy. The village is increasingly attracting tourists thanks to the unique features of its stone alleys, peaceful atmosphere, and the hospitality of its people.
“In 2025, Loc Yen village welcomed approximately 30,000 domestic and international tourists. The harmonious blend of hundreds of stone alleys, rows of tea plants, and fruit orchards has created a cool, peaceful green space, making Loc Yen ancient village an attractive ecotourism destination,” Mr. Lin said.
Recently, the Bat Cave relic site in Thanh Binh commune was recognized as a city-level scenic relic. This is an important highlight, creating conditions for the commune to connect and form a linked tourism route between Loc Yen ancient village and the Bat Cave. To promote local tourism, the commune is urgently finalizing the Thanh Binh Tourism Development Plan for the period 2026-2031. This plan focuses on the local people and leverages the commune's strengths in cuisine and specialty fruit crops. Contributing to the diversification of tourism services, Thanh Binh commune has also revived the traditional Bài Chòi folk art form.
In particular, Thanh Binh commune has identified garden and farm economies as important foundations contributing to the promotion of tourism and trade. After conducting field surveys and assessing the potential of each farming household, the government has actively encouraged the development and replication of effective economic models.
These models focus on leveraging the unique advantages and values of orchards intertwined with heritage sites such as stone steps, stone pathways, and fish ponds. All these elements combine to form a distinctive ecosystem, transforming the area into an attractive destination for tourists.
Simultaneously, recognizing the diverse potential of its specialty products, Thanh Binh has proactively formed numerous value chain linkages and promoted the development of the OCOP program. To date, the locality has 10 OCOP products achieving 3 stars or higher. Agricultural products and OCOP products are now widely consumed through tourism tours, consignment points, and e-commerce platforms. In addition, the digital transformation program implemented in recent years has supported the development of "smart new rural villages" and "smart communes," making a significant contribution to the application of information technology to develop the garden economy and rural tourism in Thanh Binh.
“To develop tourism, with a focus on the ancient village of Loc Yen, we have proposed that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continue to support tourism promotion and marketing to attract tourists. At the same time, we have requested the City People's Committee to invest in infrastructure and expand rural roads as soon as possible. The commune also hopes to receive guidance and assistance in resolving obstacles to establish a tourism management board for Loc Yen, contributing to the systematic development of tourism,” Mr. Duong Duc Lin shared.
