The above result also pushed the current Asian runner-up Japan to meet the Vietnamese women's futsal team in the quarter-finals.
This is a difficult match for the Vietnamese women's futsal team, because Japan is a very strong team in Asia. The road to the final round of this year's futsal World Cup for the team under coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang will therefore be more bumpy.
Currently, there are 3 Southeast Asian teams that have qualified for the quarterfinals. In addition to the Vietnamese women's futsal team, the other two teams in the region that have qualified for the quarterfinals are Thailand (first in Group C) and Indonesia (the third-placed team with the best record).

In the quarterfinals, Thailand will face weak team Hong Kong (China), while Indonesia will face the Chinese women's futsal team. The remaining quarterfinal match of the tournament will be between defending champions Iran and Chinese Taipei.
The top three teams, including the two semi-finalists and the winner of the third-place play-off from the Asian tournament, will qualify for the 2025 World Cup in the Philippines. They will also be the first Southeast Asian team to qualify for the World Cup, despite the Philippines being eliminated from the Asian tournament.
Before the quarter-finals, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang of the Vietnamese futsal team said: "In today's match, both teams have tactical calculations aiming to go deeper into the tournament. Therefore, the intensity of the match is not high. We proactively control the gameplay and maintain good physical condition for the players."
"We clearly defined the goal of the match as operating the game, maintaining alertness and the best physical condition for the players. The important thing is to prepare carefully for the upcoming quarter-final match," coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang added.
