The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, Le Anh Quan, has just signed a decision approving the investment plan for the construction of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway section through Hai Phong city and 9 km in Hung Yen province (formerly Thai Binh province) - including the construction of Van Uc 2 bridge.

The project involves constructing a new prestressed reinforced concrete bridge over the Van Uc River, with a width of 22.75 m and a length of 2,217 m, next to the existing bridge.

The project will be implemented in Kien Hai and Hung Thang communes. The total investment for the project is VND 2,068.7 billion. Of this, VND 1,000 billion will come from the central government budget and VND 1,068 billion from the city budget. The project is scheduled for completion between 2026 and 2028.

The investment in the construction of Van Uc 2 Bridge contributes to the gradual completion of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway according to the plan, creating a transportation axis connecting provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, etc. At the same time, it reduces traffic pressure on the existing national highway, creating favorable conditions for the development of economic zones, industrial parks, and coastal tourism services.
