Promoting the role and intelligence of the younger generation.
First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Bui Quang Huy, stated: The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnamese youth are honored and proud to always receive the direct and comprehensive attention and leadership of the Party. Looking towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, Vietnamese youth are striving to promote emulation movements with many specific action programs and practical activities.
According to the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, in the face of unprecedented opportunities and challenges, the role of educating and nurturing the younger generation has become more urgent than ever. This is not only a task of building a new socialist person, but also a decisive factor in the success or failure of achieving the strategic goals set forth by the 14th National Congress, realizing the aspiration for a prosperous and happy nation by 2045. As General Secretary To Lam affirmed in his article "The Future for a Generation to Soar": "Building and nurturing a strong, intelligent, and civilized generation of young people is the solid foundation for Vietnam to continuously rise, becoming a developed nation, a symbol of national aspiration, strength, and will."
Currently, Vietnam has approximately 20 million young people, accounting for 20.3% of the population. This generation is inheriting and clearly demonstrating patriotic qualities, diligence, intelligence, creativity, and a willingness to think and act boldly. They are also the generation of "digital citizens" born and raised in peace, with access to the remarkable achievements of science and technology. They are intelligent, dynamic, creative, possess great ambitions and a strong desire for integration, and above all, always demonstrate unwavering faith in the Party; always at the forefront in carrying out the tasks the country needs.
However, in the context of increasingly strong globalization, the younger generation of Vietnam is also facing challenges, especially the fact that a segment of young people readily accept new, modern values from outside while paying little attention to traditional national values; social evils and violations of the law among young people are becoming increasingly complex and are infiltrating the lives of a significant portion of youth. This reality demands decisive and effective solutions to implement the views and policies of the Congress on the education of the younger generation in the new situation.
Inspiring a spirit of dedication and pioneering.
Through practical experience, the Youth Union has established key lessons to cultivate young people into outstanding successors of the Party.
In this context, it is necessary to continue fundamentally and comprehensively reforming the content and methods of educating the younger generation on revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles. The Youth Union's educational work should focus on guiding and implementing the "three unities" in the awareness and actions of young people: The ideal of young people is unwavering commitment to the Party's ideals; the goal of young people is to contribute to the goals of the Party and the entire nation; and the actions of young people are to contribute to building a clean, strong, and comprehensive Party, and building a prosperous, civilized, and happy country.
In particular, emphasis should be placed on understanding and guiding public opinion through a close combination of various methods. By clearly understanding the thoughts and aspirations of young people, it is necessary to be more proactive and timely in providing information, delivering information quickly, concisely, and accurately, helping young people access official information early and adequately, and preventing them from being influenced by bad news, fake news, or harmful information.
Revolutionary action movements have always been considered the most vibrant practical environment for educating, training, and uniting young people. The movement is a "great school"—the most effective method of education for young people to train, contribute, and mature. Through participation in these revolutionary action movements, young people's ideals are nurtured, their love for their homeland deepens, and they become more mature in all aspects.
At the same time, Vietnamese youth actively participate in building and protecting the Party and the political system; enhancing their role, responsibility, and initiative in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints according to the motto "Correct understanding, sufficient information, swift action, strong connection, wide dissemination"; continuing to promote and improve the quality of the "Youth Union members striving to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam" campaign; and paying attention to Party development work among specific target groups...
Along with that, we must continuously build a clean, strong, and comprehensive Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, truly serving as the political core of the youth movement and a reliable companion for young people. In particular, we must strongly innovate the content and methods of the Union's activities towards practicality and effectiveness, better meeting the needs and aspirations of young people. We must effectively implement the "3 Easy - 3 Clear - 3 Measurable" principle (Easy to understand - Easy to remember - Easy to do; Clear objectives - Clear responsibilities - Clear deadlines; Measurable inputs - Measurable outputs - Measurable impacts).
Each Youth Union organization registers "one major achievement per quarter," "two breakthroughs per year"; building a strong, pioneering, and selfless team of Youth Union cadres at all levels, always prioritizing the youth's well-being and enjoying their own success, enduring hardships first and enjoying them later, capable of planning and organizing practical and effective revolutionary movements, serving as inspiring role models, uniting young people, and possessing the capacity to fulfill the requirements and tasks of youth work in the new revolutionary period… At the same time, actively participating in training, nurturing, and providing a source of high-quality young cadres for the Party and the political system; advising on mechanisms and policies to attract and develop young talents within the political system.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the youth of the whole country express their absolute and unwavering faith and pledge to continue following the glorious path chosen by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the revolutionary predecessors, generations of leaders, and our people.
“Under the glorious banner of the Party, with the responsibility of our generation before the great opportunities of the country, Vietnamese youth will always remain steadfast in revolutionary ideals, nurture great ambitions, be pioneers in learning and working, master science and technology, innovate, digitally transform, build themselves, and contribute to nation-building, ready to go anywhere and do anything the Fatherland needs, in accordance with Uncle Ho's teaching, 'Wherever there is a need, the youth are there; whatever is difficult, the youth will overcome it'; working together to successfully achieve the national development goals by 2030; achieving strategic self-reliance, self-strength, self-confidence, and strong progress in the era of national advancement for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization, happiness, and steadily advancing towards socialism,” emphasized Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
