In late March 2026, a video circulating on social media showed a 7th-grade female student in Son Tra ward being beaten by a group of classmates, sparking public outrage. Recognizing that teenagers are a group requiring special attention, various sectors and units launched strong awareness campaigns.
Recently, the Youth Union of the People's Procuracy of Region 3 in Da Nang, in coordination with the Youth Union of An Khe Ward Police and the Youth Union of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School, organized a "Mock Trial" to disseminate legal knowledge and regulations to students. The trial fully recreated the process of adjudicating a "Intentional Infliction of Injury" case involving teenagers. Nearly 200 students watched the conflict unfold, listened to the questioning, the indictment, and the sentencing. This gave them a firsthand understanding of the legal consequences of violence and intentional infliction of injury.
Tran Anh Duc (a student in class 8/2, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School) shared: “This is the first time I've participated in a mock trial, and all the procedures and processes were very realistic and rigorous. It helped me understand the consequences of violence and harming others, so I can control my anger.”
A representative from the An Khe Ward Police said, "The 'mock trial' is one of the visual and engaging forms of legal education and awareness campaigns that highlights the strictness of the law and has a strong impact on the awareness of young people. This helps them better understand legal regulations, raise their awareness, guide their behavior, build a healthy lifestyle, and say no to violence in general, and school violence in particular."
The current reality shows that most cases of school violence stem from simple conflicts on social media or at school. Equipping students with appropriate behavior and skills for safe and healthy social media use is essential. This was also the content of a recent awareness campaign conducted by the Internal Political Security Department, the Planning Department, and the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the City Police for nearly 800 students at Phan Chau Trinh High School.
During the awareness session, students learned about various scams and fraudulent schemes, as well as bullying and harassment on social media, and were equipped with skills to handle dangerous situations.
Alongside typical awareness campaigns, many localities and organizations are also applying artificial intelligence (AI) in creating content to raise awareness about preventing school violence. The Youth Union and the Children's Council of Thang Binh commune recently concluded an AI video creation contest with the theme "Happy School - No School Violence" for the 2025-2026 school year. Many AI video entries were meticulously produced, featuring creative content that vividly reflected the current reality of school violence; conveying meaningful messages about building a safe, friendly, and violence-free learning environment.
According to Vo Thi Le Thu, Secretary of the Thang Binh Commune Youth Union, the competition not only creates a creative playground and encourages students to apply AI technology in educational communication, but also contributes to raising awareness and responsibility among students and young members in preventing and combating school violence, and working together to build a safe, healthy, and friendly school environment.
