Building schools, implementing the project of teaching 2 sessions/day

On the afternoon of December 7, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Song Doc Primary School 5 (Song Doc commune) to teach 2 sessions/day, organize boarding and meet national standards. The project has a total investment of more than 50 billion VND, of which the Party Committee, government and people of Ninh Binh province supported 20 billion VND. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches of Ca Mau and Ninh Binh provinces.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung shared: Although thousands of kilometers apart, Ninh Binh and Ca Mau provinces always have a strong connection, care, sharing, and readiness to stand side by side in any circumstances. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Song Doc Primary School 5 not only marks the construction of an educational project, but is also a meaningful symbol in the series of activities celebrating the 65th anniversary of the twinning between Ninh Binh and Ca Mau. This is an affirmation that the friendship between the two provinces will continue to be preserved, nurtured and developed more strongly in the coming time towards a new, profound, effective and sustainable phase of cooperation. Ninh Binh province pledges to closely coordinate with Ca Mau province in the process of project implementation, ensuring the construction is in accordance with regulations, on schedule and of the highest quality, so that it can be put into use soon and effectively promoted.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Le Van Su stated that over the past years, Ca Mau has paid great attention to investing in education and training development, improving the quality of human resources, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development of the province in the new situation. Up to now, Ca Mau has 86% of schools meeting national standards. Implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, Ca Mau province is vigorously implementing the Project of teaching 2 sessions/day, organizing boarding schools; paying special attention to building toilet systems and clean drinking water systems for schools, with the determination to complete the implementation goals of the Resolution of the Politburo by 2027. To carry out this important task, in addition to the state budget, the province also strengthens the mobilization of resources from the whole society, especially the contributions of organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to support the local implementation. He requested the Department of Education and Training; Party Committee, People's Committee of Song Doc commune, Principal of Primary School 5, Song Doc and related units to quickly implement and best complete the invested items, with the spirit of: strict implementation, quality assurance, completion on schedule and absolute safety of the project.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, the estimated capital for implementing the Project of boarding schools, studying 2 sessions/day is nearly 1,230 billion VND, divided into two phases: Phase 1 (school year 2025-2026) will invest in building new, adding 119 classrooms and 115 kitchens; Phase 2 (2027-2030) will continue to complete the remaining items. The province will also build 101 new toilets, upgrade 427 toilets and invest in 270 clean water systems. Organizing 2 sessions/day, boarding in public kindergartens and primary schools aims to contribute to improving the quality of comprehensive education, reducing the burden of extra classes, especially for children/students in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, creating a solid foundation for implementing the Preschool Education Program, the 2018 General Education Program and building friendly, happy and modern schools.
