Building a foundation of trust for national quality: Three decades of BoA's growth

On the morning of November 1, the National Quality Accreditation Office (BoA) - National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality solemnly held the 30th Anniversary Celebration (1995-2025), marking the journey of three decades of efforts and dedication to national quality and prestige.

Affirming capacity and position in the international recognition system

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh emphasized that over the past 30 years, BoA has continuously made efforts to build and perfect the Vietnamese accreditation system to be on par with the region and the world.

From the early days with many difficulties in human resources and facilities, BoA has persistently affirmed its capacity, continuously expanded its scope of operations and become a full member of regional and international accreditation organizations such as APLAC, ILAC, IAF. This is an important milestone, contributing to the wide recognition of Vietnam's conformity assessment results in many countries, facilitating trade, enhancing the reputation of Vietnamese goods, promoting innovation and protecting consumer rights.

Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh affirmed that the past three decades have been a journey of pride and maturity, but also a time for BoA to orient its new development in line with the context of the fourth industrial revolution and national digital transformation. BoA needs to continue to innovate its thinking, improve its professional capacity and strongly apply digital technology in its accreditation activities, thereby ensuring transparency, objectivity, efficiency and deeper international integration in the coming period.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality Nguyen Nam Hai affirmed that BoA is an important element in the national quality infrastructure (NQI), which plays a role in ensuring the reliability of testing, inspection and certification results, and is the foundation for maintaining technical standards, quality and safety in trade, production and consumption. According to Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, "BoA is a bridge between state management agencies and the business community, contributing to improving the quality of products and goods, ensuring health, environmental safety and consumer rights".

Faced with new requirements of international integration and digital transformation, Chairman Nguyen Nam Hai requested BoA to continue to improve professional capacity, promote the application of digital technology in accreditation assessment, expand international cooperation and develop a team of professional experts, thereby ensuring objectivity, transparency, integrity and efficiency in all activities, contributing to strengthening trust in the national quality system.

On behalf of the National Quality Accreditation Office (BoA), Director Tran Thi Thu Ha said that the achievements over the past 30 years are the crystallization of solidarity, professionalism and core values that BoA has always steadfastly pursued: Objectivity, transparency, integrity and dedicated service.

Currently, BoA is providing accreditation services to hundreds of conformity assessment organizations in the fields of health, agriculture , environment, industry and trade, science and technology, contributing to the effective implementation of quality management policies according to international practices, while affirming its role as an important bridge between the State and enterprises in improving national competitiveness.

Towards the new development stage, BoA has determined to focus on four key orientations: Developing high-quality human resources that meet international standards; strongly applying digital technology to improve processes and enhance management efficiency; expanding new recognition programs associated with green transformation, sustainable development and public health protection; at the same time, strengthening international cooperation, maintaining and expanding mutual recognition agreements, thereby affirming Vietnam's role and position in the global recognition network.

On this occasion, the Minister of Science and Technology awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals with many contributions to the recognition activities in the period 2021-2025. BoA also sent souvenirs of gratitude to the groups and individuals who have accompanied and contributed to the 30-year journey of building and developing the national recognition agency.
