On the morning of December 2, a celebration, parade, and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane took place at Thatluang Square, the capital city of Vientiane.

Watching the parade, tens of thousands of Lao people as well as Vietnamese people living in Vientiane were extremely surprised when Vietnamese electric cars - VinFast VF 9 convertibles - led the armed forces into the square.

This is the first time a Vietnamese car model has been used in a national event of another country, demonstrating the strong, close relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

The VF 9s that appeared in Laos were modified in some details according to Laos' requirements and standards, so they are slightly different. Specifically, the car is painted black with white-rimmed tires. The front of the car is decorated with the Lao national emblem, and on both sides are placed the Lao national flag and the flag of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Technically, the convertible structure of the VF 9 used in the important ceremony of Lao PDR was created by removing the B, C, D pillars and the connecting part between the roof and the A pillar. The entire structure was then carefully surface treated to ensure precise assembly and bring optimal aesthetics to the overall vehicle. The interior was covered with new leather and redesigned to meet the role of a convoy vehicle. The vehicle's electrical system was also enhanced with water resistance, ensuring stable operation in all weather conditions.

Images of Vietnamese cars traveling among a forest of flags and flowers, along with tens of thousands of Lao people and international guests, were quickly shared by many people on social networks with pride.

Vietnamese expatriates living in Laos could not hide their emotions. “Seeing Vietnamese cars leading the procession at the Lao national ceremony felt both familiar and filled with pride for their homeland,” said Nguyen Son, an engineer working in Vientiane, after watching the images of “made in Vietnam” cars passing by the stage.

According to Mr. Son, in fact, Vietnamese electric cars have been running in Laos for a long time thanks to the SM Green Taxi brand. However, witnessing the cars at Thatluang Square makes him even more proud of the development of the country's industry, when Vietnam can make cars capable of serving such national and international events.

"Our Vietnamese electric car was chosen by a foreign country on an important day, showing how much they respect Vietnamese products and Vietnamese intelligence," he commented.

Previously, Vietnamese electric vehicles have been tasked with leading the procession in major events in Vietnam: VF 9 convertible at the parade, parade to celebrate National Day September 2 and celebrate the 4/30 holiday, VF 8 convertible at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory... In particular, the Lac Hong 900 LX model was honored to serve international leaders on the occasion of the 80th National Day.

Selected as the honor guard vehicle in the important event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR and the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane, VinFast electric cars have increasingly proven their class and reliability. According to many witnesses, this is a clear symbol of the country's internal strength when entering the international arena, marking a great step forward for science, technology and industry in Vietnam.
